A market town with practical needs
Surandai is a busy market town surrounded by farmland, and homes here tend to be practical: kitchens that feed large families every day, storage for grain and provisions, and furniture expected to last a generation. People here want something that looks good, but above all something that won’t need fixing in five years.
Independent houses and new builds
Most homes we see in Surandai are independent houses, many of them newly built or being extended for a growing family. New construction is the best time to plan a modular kitchen, because plumbing, gas lines and electrical points can go exactly where the design needs them. If you are building, talk to us before the kitchen walls are plastered.
What we usually recommend here
A durable aluminium kitchen with a granite top and plenty of drawer storage instead of deep shelves. Wardrobes in branded plywood with laminate finishes that are easy to maintain. For homes still under construction, we plan the kitchen alongside your mason and electrician so nothing has to be broken and redone later.
Working alongside your builder
On a new house, the kitchen goes most smoothly when the carpentry, plumbing and electrical work are planned together. We share a simple marked-up drawing with your mason and electrician showing where the sink outlet, gas point, chimney duct and power sockets should be, and the height of each one. It takes an hour at the start and saves cutting into fresh plaster and tiles later.
